The Intercontinental O2 will be set against the backdrop of the river Thames and the historical location of the Docklands. Journeys on the East India Trading route brought back tea, spices, porcelain, fabrics and stories of the high seas. The interiors of the hotel will reflect these explorations as the main lobby will act as the hub of the hotel. This ‘lighthouse’ or safe haven will be a place to return to again and again whilst you take your own journeys around the many areas of the hotel. Navigation and maritime details will play a big part in the interiors with bronze detailing in the furniture and maps and compass references in the main features.
In the guestrooms this journey concept will continue with luggage style detailing. This will be a space where guests can come and relax after a night at the O2 that feels unique.
